How it works

How to read the reliability report

The safety and reliability score of an online store is determined by qualitative and quantitative parameters commonly used as best practice in online commerce. The goal is to give you a clear summary indicator before buying.

What we check

Presence of an SSL certificate on the domain
Absence of malicious code reported by third parties
Valid SPF DNS record
Valid DMARC DNS record
Safe origin of IP and server
Presence of real user reviews
SSL certificate

The connection is encrypted (HTTPS) and the data exchanged is protected. The site does not encrypt the connection: payment data and credentials can be intercepted.

Malicious code

Security services report no threats on the domain. The domain is flagged by security services (e.g. Google Safe Browsing). We advise not entering any data.

Site status

The domain is active and reachable. The domain appears suspended or unreachable at the time of verification.

Server location

The domain is hosted in a country generally considered reliable. The domain is hosted in a country frequently associated with fraudulent activity.

IP safety

The domain’s IP is not associated with malicious activity. The domain’s IP is flagged or sinkholed.

In-depth analysis

Advanced analysis (APIVoid) detects no significant anomalies. Advanced analysis flags risk elements on the domain.

DMARC record

The domain is protected against email spoofing. The domain does not configure DMARC and is more exposed to email forgery.

SPF record

The domain’s email senders are verified. The domain does not configure SPF: its emails are more easily forged.

Domain extension

The domain uses a widespread, generally reliable extension (TLD). The domain extension is often associated with spam or fraud campaigns.

Indexing

The site is regularly crawled by search engines. The site prevents indexing: a behavior often used to hide pages from search engines.

Page titles

The site’s pages correctly define their title. Many pages have no title: a sign of poor quality or an auto-generated site.

Domain email

Contact emails use the store’s domain (e.g. @shop.com). Contact emails use free mailboxes (e.g. gmail.com): a sign of low professionalism.

Validity and freshness of results

The published information does not constitute an absolute guarantee of a site’s reliability, nor is the rating a "quality certification": the shopping experience remains up to the user. The algorithm recalculates the score on different schedules depending on the incoming data; the average validity of the rating is 30 days. If a store believes one or more indicators are actually met, it can contact us to update the data.
